About Us

Our story

The bridge to agriculture & real food

We combine tradition, sustainability and taste

We are a young team from Mainz, mainly from the catering equipment sector, with family in the Westerwald region who have been working as farmers and butchers for generations.

Growing up with a respect for nature, agriculture, and the way meat is handled, we learned early on what true quality means – without initially fully understanding it. As we got older and became more aware of factory farming and industrial meat production, we realized how privileged we were to have experienced true nature.

Our meat at home has always come from farms I know personally, but more and more friends and acquaintances wanted to share in that experience. Once you've tasted real, responsibly sourced meat, you'll never want to go back to watered-down, impure products. That's how the idea arose to make this option available to our entire region.

We offer regional awareness and access to a privilege we have known since childhood.

Frequently Asked Questions

🥩 Products & Meat

Where does your meat come from?

Our animals primarily come from the Taunus, Westerwald, Hunsrück, and Eifel regions. We value personal relationships with the farmers and appreciate the close cooperation as well as the traditional ways they work.

Is your meat certified organic?

Not every farm we work with has an official organic certification. Some are too small for it or want to avoid the additional bureaucratic costs and work – but they still operate according to natural and species-appropriate principles. For us, quality and ethics count, not the certification.

What criteria are important to you when it comes to animal husbandry?

We ensure species-appropriate husbandry, access to outdoor areas, and high-quality feed. Our partner farms refrain from factory farming and unnecessary medication.

What happens to the parts that are not sold as a classic cut of meat?

Nothing is wasted. What isn't sold as a standard cut is processed into high-quality dog food – thus preserving the full value of the animal.

Why is your meat special?

It stands for honest craftsmanship from the Westerwald region: rural, regional, with attention to detail and nature – far removed from industrial mass production.
Furthermore, Terra Fino represents the bridge to agriculture.

Why are the weight specifications for the packaging units only guidelines?

Because everything is processed according to demand. Most pieces are cut and prepared by hand – so slight variations are normal and to be expected.

📦 Storage & Shelf Life

How long does the meat keep?

Freshly chilled meat usually keeps for several days. Minced meat should ideally be used or frozen on the same day.

Can I freeze the meat?

Yes, the meat can be frozen without any problems. We recommend freezing it as fresh as possible to best preserve its quality and flavor.

Are there any tips for proper storage?

The meat should be stored in the refrigerator at 0–4 °C. Freezing in the original vacuum packaging is suitable for longer storage.

How long does frozen meat keep?

Depending on the type, several months: up to 12 months, minced meat more like 5-6 months.

Can I store the meat in its original packaging?

Yes, our vacuum packaging provides optimal protection for the meat – in the refrigerator as well as in the freezer. It is important that the cold chain is not interrupted.

Does the taste change when frozen?

With proper storage, the flavor remains largely unchanged. It's best to thaw the meat slowly in the refrigerator to preserve its juiciness and quality.

💳 Order & Payment

How can I pay?

Pay conveniently and securely through our online shop! We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

How exactly is the billing done?

In the shop you'll see prices for specific packaging units, as well as prices per 100g. Since we don't mass-process to the exact gram and every animal in nature is different, each piece is also unique. Therefore, we provide approximate weight ranges to ensure maximum transparency.

Furthermore, we always strive to hit the specified weights as accurately as possible. Thank you for your understanding!

❓ Other

Why do you also support farms without organic certification?

Because practical experience is more important to us than a certificate. Many small farmers operate to high standards but cannot or do not want to afford the expensive bureaucratic process. Neglecting these farms would go against our philosophy.

Are there also offers for restaurants or larger quantities?

Yes, we supply not only private customers but also restaurants and markets. For larger quantities or special requests, simply contact us directly.
